Our oceans are the lungs of our planet. They generate over half of the world’s oxygen, regulate our climate, and are home to more than a million species of plants and animals. Yet, these life-giving waters are choking—strangled by plastic, abandoned fishing nets, industrial waste, and countless other forms of debris.
At Coastal Renewal, we’ve made it our mission to reverse that damage. We’re not just talking about change—we’re making it happen, one cleanup at a time.
It’s estimated that over 11 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean every year. That’s the equivalent of a garbage truck dumping waste into the sea every single minute.
Plastic doesn’t just float on the surface—it breaks down into microplastics that are ingested by fish, birds, and even humans through our food and water. Ghost nets entangle sea turtles and dolphins. Styrofoam, cigarette butts, bottles, and bags wash up on coastlines that should be pristine.
The truth is sobering: we created this problem, and it’s up to us to clean it up.
At Coastal Renewal, we believe the best solutions begin with direct action. That’s why our cleanup efforts are at the heart of everything we do.
Our teams conduct regular coastal and underwater cleanup operations, targeting areas heavily impacted by marine debris. From beaches and bays to remote reefs and harbors, our volunteers and dive crews remove tons of waste with every mission.
Each cleanup is carefully planned to minimize disruption to marine habitats while maximizing the amount of debris we extract. We collect, sort, and document all waste to better understand pollution patterns—and to hold industries and policymakers accountable.
Here’s what donating and purchasing from coastal renewal can accomplish:
debris removal from oceans and coastlines
community cleanups hosted in coastal towns across the country
dive cleanups focusing on submerged nets, ropes, and sunken plastics
Partnerships with local fishermen and harbor authorities to remove and recycle derelict gear
While cleanup is critical, prevention is just as important. We don’t want to just clean the ocean—we want to stop the pollution from entering it in the first place.
That’s why we also want to:
Educate communities on sustainable practices and single-use plastic reduction
Work with schools to inspire the next generation of ocean stewards
Collaborate with eco-conscious brands and innovators to develop better materials and alternatives
Advocate for policy changes that ban harmful plastics and improve waste management infrastructure
Ocean conservation takes resources, and rather than relying solely on donations, we’ve created a sustainable funding model—our merchandise.
Every hoodie, water bottle, bag, and bracelet sold through Coastal Renewal’s store directly supports our cleanup operations. We source our materials responsibly, use recycled fabrics where possible, and partner with ethical manufacturers to reduce environmental impact.
Our gear does more than raise funds—it sparks conversations. When someone wears a Coastal Renewal shirt, they’re spreading awareness and encouraging others to take action for the ocean.
The fight to restore our oceans is massive—but it’s not impossible. We don’t need a few people doing cleanup perfectly; we need millions doing it imperfectly but passionately.
Whether you join a beach cleanup, donate to our mission, or simply reduce your plastic use, you’re making a difference.
At Coastal Renewal, we envision a future where marine life flourishes, waters run clear, and coastlines remain untouched by waste. It’s a bold dream—but with your help, we can make it a reality.
🌊 Let’s clean up our oceans together.
One wave. One mission. One planet.
